Lisbon Gallery

Design and Architecture, Industry and Commerce — Artistic Director
Lisboa, Portugal, 2025

Artistic Director of Lisbon Gallery, inaugurated on December 6, 2017, in Lisbon’s Príncipe Real district.

After the conclusion of the biennial cycle in 2017, experimenta created the Lisbon Gallery, which was inaugurated at the Palácio do Príncipe Real with the exhibition FIRST.

The gallery operates in the fields of contemporary design and architecture, with a strong focus on curatorial research and innovation. Its primary aim is to foster the development of design and architecture by producing projects with unique characteristics, providing designers and architects with ideal conditions to pursue their own research and realize their ideas.

Its approach is deeply rooted in the connection between design and architecture with craftsmanship and industry, placing particular emphasis on exploring different types of materials and technological innovation. Additionally, Lisbon Gallery is strongly interested in the relationship between design, architecture, and culture in general, viewing these disciplines as catalysts for new contexts.

The Lisbon Gallery curates and markets a carefully selected range of works created by the designers and architects it represents, reflecting its curatorial perspective and practice. Furthermore, the gallery invests in the re-edition of specific projects that, in some way, have been forgotten over time. Clients will discover a gallery that extends beyond its physical space, offering unique pieces developed by renowned designers and architects. This approach is grounded in the principles of research, quality, beauty, and originality.

Initially, the gallery was based at the Palácio do Príncipe Real for about eight months before presenting itself in Zurich through a partnership with the Swiss gallery Brand New World Salon, inaugurating during Art Basel 2018.

It is set to open a pop-up gallery in Comporta, on the main street of Carvalhal, at the end of January 2025.
