Portuguese Design Awards

Exhibitions, Juries, Awards and Councils — Commissary
Portugal, 2015

Commissioner of the National Awards of Portuguese Design that aimed to stimulate the development of the design discipline and the investments in innovation and research in this field in Portugal.

Developed in the context of the programme for the Year of Portuguese Design, the name of the awards were also proposed by GMG with the intention to pay homage to three grand protagonists of the historical landscape of portuguese design: Sebastião Rodrigues (Communication Design), Daciano da Costa (Product Design) and Pádua Ramos (Interior Design).

The awards promoted the best works of these three main sectors of design, having also played an important role in the encouragement of competitiveness and innovation, as well as highlighting the value and relevance of culture and Portuguese artistic production. The final works selected by the jury were part of an exhibition that took place in the National Coach Museum, where the award ceremony also occurred.
